Jackson Hole Bus Services Provided for the Carless, or the Environmentally-Conscious

Jackson Hole bus service is provided through the START bus (Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit). Serviced areas include Jackson Hole, other than into Grand Teton National Park, over Teton Pass into Teton Valley, Idaho and Star Valley, Wyoming. Star Valley and Teton Valley are becoming the more affordable "suburbs" to the pricey Jackson Hole area and so, many people who work in Jackson Hole commute from these valleys.

In Jackson itself, the FREE START bus shuttle runs every 20-30 minutes from the Snow King Resort, to the hospital, down Broadway skirting the town square, by the fairgrounds and south into South Park and by the high school.

For $3 one way, you can ride from Jackson to Teton Village. This is good for budget-minded skiers who opt to stay in the less-expensive Jackson motels in winter. Students (grade 12 and under) and seniors over 60 ride for half-price. You can also purchase at 10-ride discount book for $24 at the Albertsons in Jackson, the Town Hall or at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village. For those who can't bear to not stay the entire ski season, a season pass is $125.

If Teton Valley or Star Valley is your destination, prepare to pay $7 per ride, $52 for 10 rides or $105 - $125 per month for unlimited rides.

Buses have bike racks for transport. Drivers cannot sell passes or make change so be prepared before you board. Summer 2008 hours are from early morning (5:30ish) to late at night (11:30ish).
